Summer Engagement Session

It's the season of long summer days and golden sun-drenched evenings and outdoor adventures... and as a Twin Cities engagement photographer, it's my favorite time of year for engagement sessions! These images are from a magical summer engagement session with Becky and Jake, a very happy and lovely couple.

Becky and Jake are high school sweethearts - they met years ago, and are now in the early stages of planning a winter wedding. They also love this time of year, so they opted to plan a summer engagement session so these portraits would be taken in a different season than their wedding pictures. As we were planning out their engagement session, they wanted their portraits to feel happy and joyful and sweet. We spent a summer evening wandering through a Twin Cities park, ending with a sunset picnic.

As we were shooting these portraits, I worked to capture a mix of lifestyle-inspired images that felt authentic and relaxed, a few adventuresome portraits of them in movement (walking down a path or exploring a hilly field), and emotional portraits to capture their huge smiles and the sweet way these two look at each other. The resulting mix of these portraits feels happy and storytelling, and I'm so excited to share these with you!
