Emma and Andy loved the idea of having their engagement portraits taken in a meaningful location, so they chose to take them in Emma’s parents’ backyard. Emma is very close to her family and feels immense fondness for the home she grew up in, especially the garden out back. Emma and Andy also love the Minnesota springtime filled with color and life, so they chose to take their portraits in May - and the tulips bloomed right on time!

Katharine and Ames chose to have their pictures taken at Katharine’s parent’s house– a location they love with gorgeous woods, winding paths, and a warm sense of familiarity and rootedness. There happened to be a huge snowfall the night before their engagement session, so when we met the morning of the photoshoot, the sunshine was sparkling on the newly fallen snow creating such a magical backdrop.

Cat was really excited to have some pictures that would capture the joyful playfulness of their relationship and the fun that they have, and Aubrey wanted to document their romantic and laid-back side. We decided to pick two unique locations for their session: a brewery for some storytelling, candid-feeling portraits that captured a fun little date vibe, and an outdoor garden setting that documented their love of the outdoors and some springtime flowers!
